Mālik is a 2021 Indian Malayalam-language political thriller film directed, written and edited by Mahesh Narayanan. It was produced by Anto Joseph through Anto Joseph Film Company along with Carnival Movie Network. The film stars Fahadh Faasil, Vinay Forrt, and Nimisha Sajayan, with Joju George, Dileesh Pothan, and Indrans playing supporting roles. The music was composed by Sushin Shyam. The plot of the film is loosely based on the 2009 Beemapally police shooting.

Principal photography began on 3 September 2019 and completed on 18 January 2020, with major portions filmed across Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Lakshadweep. Cinematography was handled by Sanu John Varghese. The film's theatrical release was postponed multiple times due to COVID-19 pandemic, and was later opted for a digital release through Prime Video on 15 July 2021.

Ahmed Ali Sulaiman Malik, fondly called Ali Ikka, the local gangster chief of the Muslim-majority suburb of Ramadapally, prepares to undertake the Hajj piligrimage in his middle years on the insistence of his Christian wife Roselyn, who wants him to give up his violent ways. However, the police intercept him and has him arrested under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA). Roselyn is estranged from her brother David, who was a friend of Ali but now holds a grudge against him. David's son Freddy is approached by some gangsters and is given steel bombs for throwing at the police from the local school. He is then arrested and is assigned by the police with the task of killing his uncle, who fear that he cannot be prosecuted by any other means but extrajudicial because of his popular support.

On the police's insistence, Ali's mother meets with Freddy and tells him his backstory. Ali and David were working for a gangster Chandran, and were smuggling goods from abroad. The local mosque, Ramadapally had a place adjacent to it where garbage was dumped. Ali sends all the garbage back to the disposers which upsets Chandran and he disowns the gang. Ali, David and friends start smuggling on their own and expands the business. One day the subcollector Anwar Ali visits them out of suspicion but Ali convinces him of their legality. Anwar asks Ali of any favour and he asks him to clean the garbage dump behind the mosque and builts a school there. Ali is a devout Muslim and helps the community with his profits. He soon grows into a leader in the eyes of his people. Wanting to settle scores, an enraged Chandran sets fire to their godown, resulting in the death of 4 children. Ali kills Chandran in retaliation. Anwar questions Ali, who accepts that he killed Chandran and challenges Anwar to arrest him before the suburb's residents. Anwar is forced to leave but an arrest warrant is issued against Ali. Ali, David and Roselyn abscond to Minicoy island, part of Lakshadweep.

Ali and Roselyn get married in Minicoy with David's approval. Ali tells Roselyn that she need not change her faith but he wants his kids to be raised as Muslims. Roselyn agrees. When David returns to the coast, David's father tells him that the police is searching the coast, the men beaten up and women raped. He also mentions that police couldn't touch the Ramadapally residents. Intending to manipulate David, Anwar tells him that the benefits were reaped by the Muslims and the consequences by the coastal Christian fishermen. David though is appalled at first, but later comes to the same conclusion. He convinces Ali to appear before the court. Ali's mother gives a statement against Ali and he is remanded for 3 months. During this time, Roselyn gives birth to a baby boy. David names him Antony and plans to perform his baptism, unaware of Ali's wishes. Roselyn agrees. When Ali is released, he interrupts the baptism and shouts at David for this behaviour. Roselyn supports Ali and they name their son Ameer. This creates a rift between David and Ali.
